Every meal tells a story. I once heard someone say, "The aroma of food smells like love." I would add, "The aroma of food evokes a memory." I can remember from my earliest childhood that every meal my mother prepared was made with love, regardless of how sparse or full the plate. I will always be reminded of my mom and her food because of this. Her dinner table was a celebration of love and life. And, with every dish I make I can still hear mom ask, "Did you put any okra in it?" So, join me on this food journey as I share many of my favorite home-cooked meals that I enjoy making for my family and friends, and reminisce about the joys of growing up in my mother's kithen where so many happy memories were made. It is a love letter to my mother.
